The Countdown Begins: Arkansas Music Week 2026 Wave 1 Lineup Reveal!

The second annual Arkansas Music Week (AMW2026) is officially returning from August 23–30, 2026. Organized by the Arkansas Music Experience in partnership with Experience Fayetteville, this eight-day celebration builds on last year’s exciting debut to bring an even bigger, bolder mix of sounds to Northwest Arkansas.

We are thrilled to pull back the curtain on our first official round of artists, showcases, and cultural exhibits. From the next generation of Arkansas musicians to a deep dive into an Arkansas musical legend, here is your first look at what is coming to Fayetteville this August.

The Official Kickoff: The Next Generation of Rock

We are launching the week-long celebration by spotlighting the young talent right here in our backyard. The official kickoff event features the Bentonville and Fayetteville School of Rock chapters joining forces for their Summer Soundwaves Showcase at George's. Come out and witness the future of the Arkansas music scene as these young musicians set a high-energy tone for the rest of the week. Aug 23

Honoring a Legend: Levon Helm

This year, we take a deep dive into the roots of American music by celebrating one of Arkansas’s most iconic sons. The Alexander Gallery will host a powerful historical exhibit titled "This Wheel's Still on Fire: The Legacy of Levon Helm." Through rare artifacts and imagery, this showcase honors the legendary drummer and vocalist of The Band, tracing his profound impact from the Delta mud to global music history. Cultural Showcase: México en el Corazón: Experience the vibrant spirit of Mexico right here in Fayetteville! México en el Corazón is a spectacular cultural showcase featuring world-class mariachi, breathtaking ballet folklórico, and energetic live music. This captivating initiative celebrates the deep richness of Mexican heritage while strengthening the cultural and community ties between Mexico and the United States. Exclusive Week-Long Residencies & Main Stage Showcases

Special music events will pop up all week long across the city, anchored by four highly anticipated featured showcases that highlight the incredible depth of our local music scene:

Songwright - Dickson St: Hosted by Fayetteville troubadour Sean Harrison, this hit hometown series transforms the historic, neon-lit backdrop of Roger's Rec into Fayetteville's premier afternoon listening room. This exclusive, week-long residency offers a rare, intimate look into the craft of songwriting right in the heart of our entertainment district. Aug 24-30

The Songwriter Swap at Kingfish: Prepare for an unforgettable night of storytelling and acoustic mastery. This special showcase brings together the brilliant lyrical talents of Josh Brower, Carolina Mendoza, and Dominic B. Roy for an intimate evening session. Aug 25

Happy Hour at George's Majestic Lounge: Experience a cornerstone performance by certified Fayetteville legends The Cate Brothers. This is a must-see event as the iconic duo brings their timeless, world-renowned soul and blues back to the legendary Dickson Street stage. With the Dawn Cate Band Aug 28

PUNK NITE! at West End Fay: Turn the volume all the way up for a high-octane takeover packed with heavy-hitting energy. This massive night of rock features explosive, fast-paced sets from Count Your Cards, Speed Queen, Liquid Courage, and Happiness Beast. Aug 28

Freakier Folkways: Experience a spellbinding afternoon of boundary-pushing music at Ozark Fokways Fayetteville as Stephanie Smittle brings her wildly diverse vocal history to an intimate showcase. Smittle seamlessly bridges contrasting worlds—from singing ancient cathedral chants to premiering modern classical art songs. Do not miss this rare opportunity to experience her haunting, gender-flipped murder ballads rooted deeply in the freak-folk tradition. Aug 29

Kingfish Loud & Local: Fayetteville favorites Fight Dream, Bellwether Sirens, and TownHouseFire are teaming up to deliver a massive night of loud, authentic live music. Do not miss this free backyard rock rally. Aug 29
